Apidae -- Bee Family

Most digger bees are relatively large, fast flying bees. This one has a distinctly banded, yellow and black abdomen. It is visiting flowers of Creosote Bush, Larrea tridentata, a dominant shrub in the Sonoran Desert and the Chihuahuan Desert.
