ANNUAL GRASS: A delicate annual of one to several stems not much exceeding 20 cm tall. Present in spring following good precipitation.

RANGE: Can be found on flats or gentle slopes through much of the Sonoran Desert but is often hard to see.

LEAVES: Leaf blades about 2 mm wide with edges rolled over. wide.

SPIKES: Narrow panicle with short, straight awns from each floret. Often eight florets per spike.
