Sonoran Spotted Whiptail

Whiptail lizards are also known as race runners due to their extraordinary speed. With speed they capture many prey including smaller lizards and flying insects. Notice the faint spots between the longitudinal stripes. Notice further that these spots are absent from the central dark stripe.
