This stunning bird is fairly common in riparian habitats in Arizona. The massive, silvery bill and the rust-colored bars on the wings make the male of the species easily identifiable. Even though Arizona's winters are mild, the blue grosbeak migrates to the tropics for the winter months, October through April.
