This is a tropical insect, one of many that just reaches its northern most range in the riparian canyons of southeastern Arizona, Mew Mexico and Texas. There are many color morphs, apparently allowing the camouflage to work against a variety of backgrounds that might be found between Arizona and Bolivia.
