This little brown butterfly with its strong flight muscles, wide range of larval host plants in the Fabaceae (legumes), and ability to aestivate and hibernate, has been able to colonize much of North America. But in Arizona it tends to occur in moister, riparian habitats rather than the hot, low deserts.
