Schoenoplectus acutus
Scirpus acutus

Observed at margin of Kearney Lake, Pinal Co., Arizona. June 2010.

Ponds and marshes in the Sonoran Desert, like marshes almost everywhere are bound to have bulrush growing along the shallow margins. These reach two meters or more in height and often form impenetrable thickets.

Cyperaceae -- Sedge Family
